Ingvar Villido Ishwarananda: “What is the role of a spiritual teacher in human development?”

Have you sometimes been perplexed realizing that your own wisdom cannot take you any further? Have you needed help and support from someone?

May-be you lack a guide who could navigate you out of the labyrinth where you have become stranded. Or you could use assistance from someone who has walked that path and could give some practical advice. Such a guide is called a teacher, or a guru.

What are the challenges and traps of a spiritual traveller and how to recognize them? Could an ardent desire to advance quickly lead to fanaticism and how to keep moderation? Does having a teacher help to avoid such incidents? What are the dangers and traps more precisely? How to remain on the path safely without straying? Is the path of those who have a supportive guru by the side any smoother?

A guru never teaches according to the student’s plan but serves his mission as he knows the right path. But how to find yourself a teacher? How to recognize him or her? How to distinguish a true teacher from a false one and whether a student can have multiple teachers? In the August lecture we address all these exciting questions.

Recording of the lecture will be available soon.
