Ingvar Villido Ishwarananda: “Kriya Yoga – the pearl of Sanatana Dharma”

The roots of Kriya Yoga go back thousands of years when the first Kriya Yogis, also known as the first masters of yoga who had fully realized the human potential, or the Siddhas, attained profound knowledge about the nature of humans and the universe.

Through Kriya Yoga, one can discover one’s true nature – timeless, unchanging peace and contentment and thus attain self-realization. It is a means to go deeply into the state of inner peace by freeing one’s consciousness from various disturbances and restlessness, which also helps to develop one’s concentration, determination and clarity. When we understand who we are in essence and learn to direct our consciousness or focus through Kriya Yoga, completely new ways of experiencing existence emerge.

“Kriya Yoga is considered the highway to liberation. This path demands dedication, discipline and regular practice.” Ishwarananda

In the August lecture of the “Path of Knowledge” series we will discover why Kriya Yoga is considered the pearl of the world’s oldest spiritual tradition, Sanatana Dharma. We will explore

  • What is the connection between Kriya Yoga and the ancient traditions on the one hand and what is its relationship to contemporary methods of reducing and eliminating the ego on the other?
  • Why are ethics and purification of the mind important prerequisites for practicing Kriya Yoga?
  • What types of practices belong to Kriya Yoga?
  • What is tapas and what role does it play on the path of yoga?
  • How can one enter the path of Kriya Yoga, stay on it and reach the destination?

Ingvar has walked the path of Siddha Yoga for over 30 years. In the “Path of Wisdom” lecture series, he shares in his own simple and practical way the deeper knowledge he has discovered on this journey. Ingvar has a special talent for making practical connections between spiritual and everyday knowledge.
